Temporary Closure to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19

After careful consideration, due to concerns surrounding COVID-19 Second Gear has decided to close temporarily – effective immediately through March 31st. This is a difficult decision, but we believe closing right now is the most responsible choice we can make as a business in order to protect the health of our employees, customers, and community at large.

 

On March 31st we will reevaluate the situation with guidance from local public health officials and determine if it is feasible to reopen. We are doing our best as a business to support our employees in this difficult time and have committed to paying our staff during our two-week closure. Our staff will not be asked to work at this time. We instead encourage our employees and our community at large to use these next couple of weeks to practice safe social distancing in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Staying at home as much as possible may be the best option for some, especially those who are elderly or suffer from weakened immune systems. However, there are still safe ways to get outside during this time. Hiking, biking and running are all low-contact activities that can be enjoyed with safe social distancing practices. We know that many folks will be using this time to binge watch Netflix and scroll through social media, but don’t forget that outdoor activities are still a viable and healthy option!

For those times when you do have to stay indoors, we will continue to update our social media channels with mood-lifting posts and updated information about how to safely enjoy the outdoors!

We hope that this message answers some of your questions and concerns related to our business. We are deeply saddened to have to close our doors right now, but we have every intention of reopening in due time and look forward to reconnecting with our customers and community.
