Second Gear is proud to be an integral part of our Asheville outdoor community. Being consignment based, we rely heavily on locals as partners in our business, and we strive to give back to the community in many ways. In addition to participating in local fundraisers, hosting adoption days with Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, and donating to numerous raffles and silent auctions, we also choose a select number of nonprofit organizations to be our nonprofit of the month.
In addition to being featured on our website, our nonprofit of the month is showcased in-store and in our local advertisements, is invited to hold an event at our store, and receives as a direct donation a percentage of the sales for the month.

Asheville Grown Business Alliance and the Go Local Campaign
Second Gear is proud to be a Go Local partner and a member of the Asheville Grown Business Alliance! The Asheville Grown Business Alliance is a group of nearly 500 local businesses that advocates for the unique and independent interests of small business in our growing community.
The Asheville Grown Business Alliance coordinates the Go Local Card sales and promotions. The Go Local Card entitles the cardholder to discounts and deals at the participating businesses. Additionally, half the sales of the card go directly to Asheville area public schools. Purchase your Go Local Card in-store or at any businesses part of the campaign!
