Supporting Our Community
1% of ALL Sales Benefit our Nonprofit Partners!
Over $4.6 Million Paid To Our Consignors
& Over $80,000 Donated To Nonprofits
Second Gear is proud to be an integral part of our Asheville outdoor community. Being consignment based, we rely heavily on locals as partners in our business, and we strive to give back to the community in many ways. In addition to participating in local fundraisers, hosting adoption days with Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, and donating to numerous raffles and silent auctions, we also choose a select number of nonprofit organizations to be our nonprofit of the month.
In addition to being featured on our website, our nonprofit of the month is showcased in-store and in our local advertisements, is invited to hold an event at our store, and receives as a direct donation a percentage of the sales for the month.

This Month's Featured Nonprofit:
Second Gear is excited to host Homeward Bound as our November nonprofit! We will donate 1% of November sales to help end homelessness. "Homeward Bound is the community leader in best practices to end homelessness, and have been using the Housing First model since 2006. The Housing First model has been proven to be the most effective, cost-efficient, sustainable, and humane intervention to homelessness. Essentially this means people experiencing homelessness are housed as quickly as possible and offered case management services to provide support and resources to help maintain housing stability.Since 2006, Homeward Bound has moved more than 2,200 men, women, and children out of cars, camps, and shelters into permanent housing. We have an 89% retention rate in housing."
